6-card PLO: the Omaha with the most action
PLO6 (six-card Pot Limit Omaha) is like regular Omaha, but with six cards in your hand. More combinations, bigger pots and harder decisions.
Six hole cards
Each player gets 6 face-down cards, and 5 community cards come out on the board: flop, turn and river.
The golden rule
Your hand uses exactly 2 cards from your hand and 3 from the board. With a single heart you don't have a flush, even with four on the board.
The limit is the pot
The most you can bet is what's in the pot. Preflop, a pot-sized raise is to 3.5 big blinds.
A young format: getting in early pays off
6-card PLO is growing and there is very little material to study it. Whoever prepares today starts with a knowledge edge.
A growing format
More and more sites offer it, but it is still much smaller than Hold'em or 4-card PLO.
Little study material
There are fewer courses, tools and solvers for 6 cards than for other formats.
Know it before your opponents
Understanding the rules, the nuts and the math from day one makes a difference in every decision.
Poker has variance: studying improves your decisions, but does not guarantee results.
